Two Languages of Pain: The Brain Predicts, The Body Remembers

Your brain speaks in prediction and protection.

Your body speaks in sensation and memory.

This experiential workshop teaches you to listen to both.

Through pain science, mindful movement, and somatic exploration, we'll look at how the brain and body learn protection, and how the fascia holds and remembers that learning. New experiences, worked directly in the tissue, can begin to create greater safety, confidence, and freedom in movement.

Our vision for this workshop

To help you understand your pain, reconnect with your body, and take a more active role in your own recovery.

Three hours, two perspectives. Liad brings the physiology: how the nervous system learns pain, why it keeps predicting it, and what changes that pattern. Anat brings the felt experience: breath, slow movement, and fascial maneuvers you can practice on your own afterward. The two halves are meant to meet in the middle, in your own body.

Who it is for

Everyone living with chronic or recurring pain who wants to explore a path toward greater ease, confidence, and healing, as well as anyone curious about the relationship between pain, the brain, and the wisdom the body already holds. No prior experience with yoga, somatics, or fascial work is needed. You will be moving gently, at your own pace, and nothing is forced.

What you will leave with

  • A simple way to tell the difference between what your brain is predicting and what your body is actually feeling.
  • Hands-on fascial maneuvers you can keep practicing at home, on your own.
  • An understanding of why pain can persist long after tissue has healed — and what that means for you.
  • Language for describing your pain that makes conversations with clinicians easier.
